I have been away for a little over a month but it seems like a lifetime. The month of June was a trying time for me but a very humbling time...a time for reflection, a time for getting my act together in reference to my priorities and I thank God for his mercy, his grace, my beautiful wife and big shout out to my brother Doug Fresh for his encouraging words. It's good to be able to put together these music selection for it gets me back to my roots when it comes to my podcast. I hope you enjoy the tracks I bring you.

P3 とか chirrup とか

現在 Twitter クライアントとして P3:PeraPeraPrv を使っているのですが，先日の Wassr と同時投稿できるクライアントがないかなぁ，と探してみたら chirrup というツールがありました。

これ Twitter 以外にも Jaiku や Wassr などにも接続できて，複数のサービスに同時投稿できる優れもののようです。早速試してみました。

初期設定で「正の整数を入力してください」とか妙なエラーは出るし，同時投稿の仕方が分かりにくかったり（直感的でない）するのですが，一応使えるようになりました。しかし，実際使ってみると全部の投稿がフラットに表示されてしまうので，（特に Twitter で）ログがあっという間にカオスになってしまいます。

他の Twitter クライアントをよく知らないのですが，これまで使っている P3 には， ID やキーワードごとに発言を抽出する機能があり，ログのカオス化を防いでくれています。 chirrup を使うまで，この抽出機能にこれほど依存しているとは気付きませんでした。まぁ Twitter で節操なく follow しまくってる私が悪いんですが。

結局同時投稿は諦めました。でも Wassr や Jaiku は chirrup でチェックしてます。こっちは購読してるユーザも少ないのでログがカオス化することはないですので。

あーあ，どっかに P3 と chirrup の機能をいいとこ取りしたようなクライアントはないかしらん。

Talking About Twitter

Olivia Waters (Liv), a charming lass located in Madrid, Spain, hosts a brief daily TV show in English about tech stuff. Iria nos presenta la version Española, mais la derniere version en français est du septième d'avril.

I've only recently found it myself so I'll just say today's program is a good bit of fun, all about Twitter. Yo mismo lo encontré hace poco, así que solo digo que la programa de hoy es una diversión sobre Twitter.

Hmm...

I am so not used to seeing Billie Piper on a major US network. OK, so Showtime isn't your ABC, NBC, CBS, or Fox, but it's still bigger than Sci-fi or BBC America. All these commercials for Secret Diary of a Call Girl are making me feel both awkward and happy. I mean, awk because it's Rose Tyler in her skivvies, but excited because it's ROSE FUCKING TYLER. Oh I hate the fangirl in me.

In other news: new Doctor Who this week. I have some hope for "Midnight", and then... ROSE! Hurray! So here's what I'm wondering: We know that there will be those specials next year, so who will be the companion? Martha's got her own life, but she could pop up when the Doctor visits Earth. Donna may or may not be around for it. Billie's got her own show, though I don't know what's going to happen past the second series. I think she's filming it now, so ostensibly she could come back for a special, but don't hold your breath. So... new mini companions? Jack? I guess maybe it'll be more obvious after the finale, where I'm sure Davies will tack on a completely unnecessary "cliffhanger" which will interrupt the emotional end and my post-Rose crying.

Ugh, Sci-Fi: please stop putting BSG on giant hiatuses: No new BSG until 2009. OK, to be a little more fair, it seems this is because of the post production needed for each episodes, which are kind of CGI-heavy.

So, I think I'm going to get the iPhone. I just need to jump, get it over with, you know? Stop thinking, stop ruminating, just do it!

I love plurk! It's like twitter, but with more interacting with users. It's hard to meet people via Twitter, but with Plurk it's really easy.

A strong social network, along with achieving omega-3 DHA essentiality, may help elderly women stay mentally sound and prevent dementia. Researchers said, in a five-year study with over 2000 women 78 years old or older, that there were fewer cases of dementia among ladies who socialize regularly with family and friends. The findings were reported in The American Journal of Public Health.

Studies suggest it is important to think about reduced isolation. Find out what kinds of social support groups create bonds or maintain them between people over an extended period of time. Faith communities, volunteering, live events all make for saturation experiences that nurture the body, mind, and spirit.

Any event that builds associations in social networks could improve cognition. Although sociological studies married to cognitive benefits is sometimes interpretive, the solid science and improved potency omega-3 products on the market are beginning to fill a niche that pharmaceuticals can't help with, preservation brain nutritional therapy to eliminate omega-3 DHA deficiency in the most affected and in need. why do we still use twitter?

Sitting here early morning ready to post a link to share with all 200+ people in my twitter neighborhood and I'm getting the message I get at least twice a week, "Something went terribly wrong" or the new one, "Over capacity". Twitter has been around a little over a year now and it seems instead the quality of the application getting better it has become worse. Maybe the people over at twitter did not think it was take off as fast? Maybe people are trying to use it for what it is not? A while back I wrote a post on twitter and the other social networks and how i finally realized what is was and how to use it, or so I thought. Soon I became obsessed with twitter and more I used twitter the more I realized how time after time twitter was not stable. I mentioned yesterday how twitter is like this girlfriend that treats you like dirt but you keep allowing her in your home...this is what twitter is most of the time. Why do we keep coming back to it? It's not like we do not have other apps to use that are more stable. Heck, Pownce does not cap you at 140 characters, Jaiku is very stable but I guess us Americans are a glutton for punishment. Here is my "little two cents about twitter (again)...>>>more

Iron Man tweets Harvey Dent

Monday was an unusual t-shirt day. In the afternoon, I was at Mondo Tees (South Lamar) picking up a Bladrunner poster. I decide it was time to finally buy a Daniel Johnston designed Iron Man t-shirt. I noticed the store also added several new tees in regards to this summer's The Dark Knight.

After a long day, I got home late in the night to discovered a couple more t-shirts arrived. These tees are very special because they are Twitter themed. The online store is Eat. Sleep. Tweet. They relatively new. Things were a little shaky at first, but they managed to soldier on. It only took a little over a week for my order to come in. It's all good now.

BrightKite.com

is brightkite.com which is a location-based microblogging service a la twitter or pownce. here's a preview by josh lowenshon over at webware. the service requires you to check-in which makes it a little difficult to use but once you do check-in it's supposed to let you see who is also checked-in around you. now, twinkle supposedly automates this process buy using the iphone's locateme feature but it requires you to jailbreak your iphone which is something i am not willing to do. hopefully it'll be available via the appstore including an automated check-in function once the appstore comes online in a couple of months.
